David Bennett brings both strong technical and business skills to the company. He wrote his first programs in Fortran on punched cards back in 1966, before the word 'software' had even been invented.
He worked with mainframes and minicomputers in medical computing in the 70s, and then personal computers in the 80s. After a spell in the consulting business, he created an application development tool called PFXplus and started his own company Powerflex Corporation to market it. The company has survived and prospered for 14 years, with customers around the world.
During ongoing research into new technologies for Powerflex Corporation, David became intimately familiar with Microsoft's .NET Framework. He has worked closely with Microsoft developers, has become a recognised expert in the foundation technologies of the Common Language Runtime and the languages it supports, and has been invited to visit Microsoft and to take part in the ongoing beta program and review process. Recognising the unique opportunities it presents, David was a driving force for the creation of Readify.
David is also a member of the Branch Executive Committee of the Australian Computer Society.
